Located on Sant Domènec Street, we find the house where Francesc Ferrer Pastor (La Font d’en Carròs, 1918- Valencia, 2000) was born, an important Valencian lexicographer who dedicated his life to spreading and normalizing our language.
Author of the Dictionary of Rhymes (1956), and above all of one of the books that we Valencians have used the most to learn our language: The famous white and blue vocabulary, Valencian-Spanish and Spanish-Valencian (1968).
The Francesc Ferrer Pastor Foundation, created on July 10, 2008, keeps his memory alive and aims to disseminate and normalize Valencian in all areas of use and culture, as well as to promote the memory and appreciation of the figure of Francesc Jacint Ferrer i Pastor, a great lover of his people and the Valencian language.

Francesc Ferrer Pastor
Francesc Ferrer Pastor (1918-2000) was a prominent Valencian lexicographer, grammarian and writer. Born in La Font d’en Carròs, he is known for his significant contribution to the standardization of Valencian.
His professional career began and was always linked to the Graphic Arts sector. Later, he developed a career as a teacher, teaching Valencian courses at Lo Rat Penat (1949-1963) and vocational training at Ciudad del Aprendiz. Later, his passion for language and culture spurred him to enter the literary world. Some of his most important works are the “Diccionari de la Rima”, the “Diccionari General” or the “Vocabulari”, which had a great impact on the use, teaching and standardization of Valencian. He also published other relevant works such as “Lliçons d’Ortografia”, “Gramàtica Valenciana” and the collection of children’s stories “Contaralles de la meua terra”. Finally, he founded his own printing house, Fermar.
During a period when the public use of Valencian was very restricted, he played a crucial role in the dissemination of the language during the Franco dictatorship. His work was fundamental in keeping the language and culture alive during decades of repression.
In addition to his work as a lexicographer and grammarian, Ferrer Pastor collaborated with various cultural and educational entities, always with the aim of promoting and dignifying the Valencian language. His legacy endures as an essential reference both in the collective memory of society and in the academic world and for this reason he has received important recognitions such as the Valencia City Council Prize for editorial effort (1957), the Valencian Government Prize for Letters (1994) or the Gold Medal of the University of Valencia (1998).
